NEWBERN-WILLIAMS

The Rev. “Dr.” Mary Newbern-Williams is Honorably Retired from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) (2020) and serves as the Covenant Pastor for the First United Presbyterian Church of Richmond, VA. In this capacity, she provides administrative and pastoral leadership, conducts worship and he sacraments, is active in community outreach, and leadership development. Rev. Mary began this position in September 2021 after serving as Transitional Pastor for Calvin Presbyterian Church in Norfolk, VA.

Church. Mary has always been active and deeply involved in community organizations and activities wherever she has served.

Her commitment to ecumenical, interreligious, and international activities has resulted in presbytery partnerships with international partners (Democratic Republic of Congo), funding for special programs, and opportunities for new and emerging
eadership. She serves and has served on boards and committees, which support and promote leadership, education, justice, and youth ministry, and that service abused women and children service abused women and children.

The Rev. Dr. Mary Newbern-Williams (lovingly called “Dr. Mary ” by several constituents) is the mother of three adult children, two sons and one daughter. She comments with pride that the family now resides in the same city. The family resides in the Virginia Beach Area, where they continue to enhance and build their careers.

This will be a time to share your joys and sorrows, as well as to submit the names of persons and or situations you would like the intercessory prayer team to pray for or join us when we meet on Monday evenings by teleconference.
