Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian-Women-Page

The Presbyterian Women of First United Presbyterian Church is an active group of leaders whose commitment to Jesus Christ is known and evident in its work in the church and in the community. “PW”, as it is affectionately known, is part of and a partner with the Presbyterian Women of the Presbytery of the James, the Presbyterian Women of the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic, and of the Presbyterian Women of the PCUSA.

The Presbyterian Women of First United meet as scheduled to plan events and to provide support for existing programs. In addition, the Presbyterian Women meet once monthly on the second Tuesday of each month via conference call for Bible Study. The resource PW uses is written and published by the PCUSA. This year’s study (2022-2023) focuses upon “Sabbath”, from a theological, practical, biblical, and holistic perspective. The Presbyterian Women support and participate in programs and projects of First United. One of those programs includes the “Daughters of Imani”.

The Presbyterian Women are leading the way with its Daughters of Imani ministry. Daughters of Imani is a Christian rites of passage program for young women to promote self-worth, self-esteem and social and spiritual development. This ministry, part of the Presbyterian Women outreach, is held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday mornings from 9:30 A.M. until 12 noon at First United. This ministry is open to all young ladies ages 8 to 18; you do not have to be a member of First United to participate.

If you want your daughter, granddaughter or niece to participate in this FREE program, please contact:
